My mumma would come home late

Sometimes she’d come home with loads money
But then she started to come home with nothing
She looked sad, I thought “this could be bad”

I tried to ask her in the morning
But she didn’t wanna talk to me
She guilty, she said “I spent the money at the pokeys”

The landlord came and knocked on our door
I had to tell him we were poor and rent would be late
'Cos mum's out on a date with the pokies.
