lyrics

Its doing my head in, poverty & crime have set in, my Mother's on the pokies every night regretting,

The night before she said it, but I don't think she meant it, I'm hearing the same sentence; I'm sorry there’s no breakfast,

But what about lunch & dinner, she's no sinner, she was good before this, before this she was a winner,

So how did this happen, this tragedy I'm Rapping, it’s tearing us apart, these vial contraptions,

& Then I hear there giving money back, so where’s the money at? Because me & my Family haven't gotten jack,

They say they help out community's, but all I seem to see is wide spread destruction of unity,

I seen a young Maori man on the news, he say’s he wants to rid our community of these tools,

He says there false hope & I agree with his views, it’s a choice & not chance & I hope we don't choose,

To neglect his point, while the collective point, at the pros & not con's of this reckless joint,

Why is it, that only the poor have pokies at there door, while the rich community's don't seem to have machines at all?

& All they say is more while we suffer, the road is getting tuffer, & I have given a dam nuff(enough) up,

I go to school with no lunch & no shoes; the teacher is always wondering why I'm acting like a fool,

My friend's are walking away because I keep stealing their food & other kids don't want to know me because I'm acting to rude.

Is this the result of governance? Our country & its politics? & we be paying them to do all of this?

I've got some words for the minister, Mr Prime minister, why are you making decisions so sinister?

PGF gave you the proof, the stats are through the roof, of all the harm pokie machines do,

& still you want to side with big business's, neglecting facts, for the partnership of big business's

What is this? the thrones of a rose? are we prawns to your goal? just to see the economy grow? DAM!

But I know there’s still hope, I seen that young Maori man again & he spoke, & it hit me hear(Meaning the heart)

He was clear & direct, with a chosen prospect, that we can prosper if we select,

To remove these machines, with passionate means, to build a brighter future for our kids & families,

& he's proof, him & his team too, they made a, victory for Victory, and remove the machines to.

See this is what happens when those at the bottom take action, & stand up to those who forgot'em

The truth can be rotten & hurt, but its up to us to stand up right now here & serve, feel my words.

[End Speech]

What up. I feel as an Artist we have the responsibility to be the voice for those who are sometime unfortunate enough not to be heard,

That Rap I just did then, is a collection of story's that I have heard through the line of work I do, dealing with gambling, problem gambling.

Hope those out there that are going through this struggle can feel that, relate to that, & I hope most of all, it gives you strength to stand & do what’s right, Much Love.
